The cotton duck lining is very clever. It can be unfolded to use as a cover for warm bread. It comes in a nice range of colors (I have the sand but plan to buy some bolder ones). It detaches from the steel base very easily. Washing is a snap; air-drying is recommended, but I threw it in the dryer for ten minutes on low, and it did no harm (it came out looking like new). The small basket holds an ample volume of bread (two sliced baguettes or thereabouts). It's one of my favorite recent purchases. If you're looking for a gift for a design enthusiast who appreciates a nice domestic touch, this would be ideal.
